Julie Hicks


Julie founded the Action Podiatry team, starting the practice 20 years ago. She graduated from QUT in 1999 and since graduating, has continued to extend her knowledge by attending regular conferences and seminars in both Australia and New Zealand. Julie is a member of the Australian Podiatry Association. She has a special interest in acupuncture and foot mobilisation. Julie enjoys an active lifestyle herself and in her spare time can be found hiking up a mountain or having a day out at the races.

Hours in Practice
Tuesday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Every 2nd Saturday: 8:00am – Noon

Jillian Holland


Jill has worked in various professions, but podiatry is her calling. She graduated from QUT in 2006 with first class honours. A mum to two energetic daughters, Jill has a keen interest in treating children with a special focus on biomechanics. Jill is skilled at treating foot conditions in people of all ages. In addition, she enjoys performing diabetic assessment, treatment and education. Jill is passionate about providing a thorough treatment to ensure her patients optimise their mobility and maximise their quality of life. Jill’s bubbly personality is contagious, beware, you’ll probably leave with a smile on your face!

Tuesday: 10:00am – 4:30pm
Wednesday: 9:30am - 4:30pm

Adele McGarry


Adele is the newest member of the Action Podiatry team joining us in December 2019. She holds Bachelor degrees in Podiatry (2019) and Applied Science (Human Movement Studies) (2009) from QUT and is certified in Western Medical Dry Needling. She enjoys helping patients reach their health and sporting goals no matter how big or small. Adele has a keen interest in many sports including triathlon, swimming and AFL. Away from the clinic, Adele enjoys reading, training for her return to open water swimming and regular trips to the beach with her dog Marley.

Thursday: 9:30am – 6:30pm
Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm

Carissa Taylor


Carissa is the owner of Action Podiatry. She graduated from QUT in 2006 and has worked in various private practices across Queensland and New South Wales. Carissa is a member of the Australian Podiatry Association. She has previously worked with a podiatric surgeon and as such has a keen interest in both the conservative and surgical care of ingrown toenails. Growing up with problems with her own feet, Carissa can relate to patients who are suffering with foot pain and her aim is to get her patients back on their feet and enjoying life. When not at work, her favourite place to be is at home spending time with her baby boy Lennox.
